Dr Umesh Joshi
I'm Dr Umesh Joshi, Consultant Counselling Psychologist working across, NHS, King's College London and Private Practice. I offer thoughtful, tailored psychological support for individuals, couples, families, professionals and organisations.

My approach is collaborative, considered and grounded in a deep understanding of each person's context. Whether you are navigating something specific or looking to understand yourself better, we will work together at a pace that feels right for you.

I often work with people managing high levels of responsibility, complexity or change. This can include moments of transition, feeling stuck, or trying to make sense of something that doesn't yet feel clear. I offer a confidential space to think clearly and work meaningfully towards your goals.

Alongside private practice, I work as a Consultant Psychologist within the NHS, where I lead and support services working with complex presentations. I am also involved in teaching and training, including my role with King's College London. This allows me to stay closely connected to both clinical practice and ongoing developments in the field.

My clinical training spans a range of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic, systemic and humanistic models. In practice, this means I do not take a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, our work is shaped around your needs, drawing on different perspectives where helpful. I am a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

At the centre of my work is a focus on creating a space that is confidential, feels calm, safe, respectful and containing. Being a psychologist is not about applying a fixed method, but about developing a shared understanding and working in a way that feels thoughtful and effective.
